Spraying Drone project — Pakistan

Challenge or opportunity
Up to 40% of crops are lost worldwide and 860 million farmers are exposed to agricultural chemicals. Today’s spraying drones cost around $20,000 and service companies usually require at least 100 acres, which leaves small farms behind.
KI-Q’s role
KI-Q prepared the drone’s go-to-market strategy for the MENA region.
Solution or offering
The drone costs about $4,500 (versus $45,000 for a premium alternative), brings spraying down to around $4 per acre and serves farms from 5 acres. It combines AI smart spreading, autonomous flight and object recognition, covers about 30 acres an hour with a 15 kg payload and swappable batteries, and is modular for different uses.
Documented outcomes
As reported by the company: up to 60× faster than manual spraying, 15% higher yield and 30% of resources saved. Winner of the UN & UNICEF Green Startup Award, recipient of a UN grant, and represented Pakistan at COY18 and COP28.
